Urgent Action Fund, Asia & Pacific is organizing a writing retreat for 20 women, trans, and non-binary feminist activists from the Pacific and Asia.
We wish to offer a reflective, caring and joyful space to honour and hold witness to all those who are a part of feminist movements that resist patriarchy, shrinking civic spaces, climate crisis, militarization, violent repression, colonization, and more in the Pacific and Asia regions.
DATES: 8-12 September 2025
Our personal histories are deeply interconnected with the movements we belong to. As we remember the experiences and stories that have shaped us, writing can be healing, liberating, a form of resistance and transformation.
In a space that centres activists, all forms, styles, and words belong. With carefully structured creative and somatic prompts, participants will experiment and play with words as we re-story our lives. Our hope for this 5-day fully-funded retreat is to offer a space to rest, remember, play with words, and practice vulnerability and courage through writing in community.
While the medium of facilitation is English, we encourage participants to write in any language or combination of languages they choose.
