The  brings together leading European philanthropic foundations to champion the power of socially engaged arts in driving positive social change across Europe.

At the heart of the Alliance is its Fellowship programme, an 18-month initiative that connects and supports leaders of socially engaged arts organisations across the continent. The programme brings together around 15 leaders who are spearheading the arts to address social challenges within their communities. Through peer learning, leadership development, and access to skills, networks, and funding, the Fellowship helps strengthen organisations and expand their impact.

Alongside the Fellowship, the Alliance works to increase recognition, understanding, and support for socially engaged arts across Europe. Through advocacy, communications, research, and sector engagement, it aims to demonstrate the vital role that socially engaged arts can play in strengthening communities, fostering participation, and contributing to social change.

The Alliance is a pooled fund between 13 philanthropic foundations from across Europe, hosted by the , which provides the financial, legal, administrative infrastructure for the Programme. Each foundation is part of the Steering Committee, helping set the strategic direction of the Alliance.

We are seeking a Project and Communications Officer to support the delivery of the Alliance’s programmes and activities, helping to ensure that our work is collaborative, well-coordinated, and impactful. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across programme coordination, operations and communications within a European philanthropic alliance. The successful candidate will work closely with leading philanthropic foundations, arts organisations and practitioners across Europe, contributing to initiatives that create positive social impact through the arts.

Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager, the Project Officer will contribute to the smooth running of the Alliance’s work through operational, administrative, and project coordination responsibilities. Key responsibilities include providing administrative and coordination support across grants and contracts, financial and procurement processes, communications and content management, meetings and events, and the systems that underpin the Alliance’s activities. As part of a small, dynamic team, the Project and Communications Officer will play an important supporting role in the delivery of the Alliance’s programmes and activities, helping to strengthen the field of socially engaged arts across Europe.

The role is offered as a remote position for an initial six-month period, with the possibility of extension. Candidates must be based in the EU or the UK, with occasional travel required for meetings and events across Europe.
