Applications are now open for CREA’s reconference 2025, to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 8 to 10 December.
What is reconference?
We call it a global feminist expo. We imagine it to be a mini-biennale. Over three days, reconference will nudge you to:
- reThink ideas of justice, equality and inclusion, our relationship with
technology, and how we live and imagine a future for this planet; - reWork how we use language, our human connections, and our forms of
resistance; - reClaim physical and digital spaces, narratives and histories, and joy and
pleasure
We are designing reconference to be a space that challenges what we believe, pushes us to imagine a different future, and gives us a moment to collectively find our way out of a thicket of anger and hopelessness. Watch a glimpse of CREA’s last reconference in 2019, where over 750 artists, activists and allies came together to engage with different forms of creative expression, deep scholarship and critical thinking.
How to register and apply
We now invite you to register to attend reconference as a participant or apply as a creative contributor.
For participants:
reconference offers you a space to critically engage with the challenges that face us today with art, music, theatre, design, literature, and much more. See movements in action, learn from scholars, and get a chance to meet feminist activists from across the world. Register here as a participant.
For creative contributors:
- Are you a feminist activist or a community leader?
- Do you express yourself through creative work—like art, film, photography, performance, cartoons, posters, or storytelling?
- Does your work question, provoke, and challenge the state of the world, examine feminist fault lines and disagreements, and explore forms of resistance?
- Have you been a part of any powerful campaigns that you’d like to bring to reconference?
- Does your research examine this critical moment for sexuality and gender rights?

CREA will also offer a limited number of partial and full scholarships to contributors from the Global South. We are currently able to only receive applications submitted in English. If you need assistance with other languages, or need more information about accessibility, please contact reconference@creaworld.org.
