Call for Papers – 2024 Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium

We are delighted to announce the Second Edition of the Queer(y)ing Asylum Symposium, which will be held on Friday 8 November 2024 at the University of East London Campus, following the successful inaugural symposium in 2023. This in-person conference aims to explore the intersection of LGBTIQ+ identities and asylum practices, providing a platform for critical interdisciplinary dialogue, innovative research, and the sharing of best practices.

We value contributions that highlight lived experiences, employ decolonial approaches, and challenge traditional narratives. Scholars, activists, practitioners, and policymakers are invited to submit papers that address the diverse and complex experiences of LGBTIQ+ asylum seekers and refugees.
