Salary (Monthly): ₦350,000 – ₦500,000

CHEVS is co-implementing a transformative “Safe to be Me” project – a 3-year VAWG prevention
program for diverse women and girls in Nigeria. The intervention will aim to address both IPV and
non-partner sexual violence, especially sexual harassment at the University of Lagos in Nigeria,
targeting the university administration, lecturers, non-teaching staff, students, including LBT
persons and their partners in schools and out of school. The project aims to strengthen
community resilience by addressing key barriers facing LBT persons, such as invisibility and
exclusion within the broader priority agenda setting in research, policy formulation, and
mobilisation within the women’s rights and LGBTI spaces around VAWG prevention and response
programming in Nigeria.
The primary objective of this project is to shift harmful norms, values, beliefs, behaviours and
attitudes towards positive norms on gender and gender relations, contributing to a university
environment where diverse girls and young women experience less violence and where LBT
students experience less societal shame and abuse.
The Project Officer – Violence Prevention will co-lead and represent CHEVS in planning,
implementing, coordinating, and overseeing the Safe To Be Me project in Lagos State.
