The Wellbeing Center (TWEC) is a non-profit organization in Nigeria whose work focuses mainly on mental health and wellbeing of LGBTIQ+ persons.
We provide mental health and wellbeing support to LGBTIQ+ individuals in Nigeria, and are actively working to end all forms of mental health stigma and discrimination
Purpose
The Finance Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the Wellbeing Center. This position is essential for maintaining transparency, accountability, and efficiency in managing the organization’s resources. By overseeing financial operations, the Finance Officer will support the organization’s ability to deliver impactful mental health programs and services to the community.
Additionally, the Finance Officer will be expected to provide strategic financial insights to guide decision-making, ensure compliance with regulatory and donor requirements, and contribute to the organization’s overall growth and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Develop and manage budgets for programs and operational activities.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations and organizational policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Support the preparation of reports for donors, stakeholders, and the board.
- Process, track and document all payments, including staff compensation and vendor disbursements.
- Monitor and report on the organization’s financial health.
- Assist with financial aspects of fundraising, including tracking grants and donor contributions.
- Perform additional duties associated with the finance department and any other duties by the Director.
Qualities/Skill/Requirements
- At least 3 years proven experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and time-management abilities.
- Commitment to the Wellbeing Center’s mission and values.
- Ability to work remotely and attend in-person meetings as required.
Job Offer
- Reporting to: The Director of Advocacy and Psychotherapy services
- Work Hours: Part-time (15 hours weekly, Monday to Friday). Remote with in-person meetings as needed.
- Monthly Salary: ₦100,000 – ₦120,000 depending on expertise and experience
- Contract Duration: 12 months.
- Start Date: February 2025
