Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily shelter operations, including feeding, medical care, and cleanliness.
- Enforce policies and manage the adoption process effectively.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- -Handle emergencies and maintain incident records.
- -Exhibit exceptional people skills, demonstrating a compassionate and fair approach to enforcing rules.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to address health and behavioral issues.
- Maintain accurate record-keeping and prepare the shelter and facility budget and reports.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, security regulations, and organizational standards.
- Manage shelter and event space, and also supervise vendor engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate in a relevant discipline such as humanities, social work, or a related field
- Must possess 2-3 years of experience in social work or non-profit program management.
- Experience in services related to homelessness, substance abuse, mental health, and physical disabilities, and suitable knowledge in SOGIESC is an added advantage.
- Exceptional people skills with a compassionate and fair approach to upholding rules
- Strong organizational and communication skills for interactions with staff and the public.
- Problem-solving skills for addressing health and behavioral issues.
- Administrative skills for record-keeping and budget management, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Ability to handle stressful situations; knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and crisis intervention is a plus.
- Experience in space planning, health and safety compliance, budgeting, and vendor management.
- Must be ready to resume work in July
