The Matthew Staley & Wendy Hussey Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement in Promoting LGBT Equality and/or HIV Prevention

This award is in honor of Matthew Staley, an MPH alumnus of the San Jose State University Public Health master’s program. The $1000 scholarship award is offered to an MPH student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in promoting LGBT Equality or HIV Prevention. Staley dedicated many years of his personal and professional life to HIV Prevention at the local, state, and national level before being forced into early retirement due to complications from the disease.

Application and supporting documents are due at the time of application for admission into the MPH program. Awards will be announced at the time of acceptance of the MPH program.
